Élise Plessis grew up in France in a small ski resort on the Swiss border. As far back as she can remember, she had two dreams as a child: to have a talking squirrel perched on her shoulder and to become an illustrator. Her love of illustration came from drawing rabbits and pandas, but she soon discovered that just about everything else is fun to draw too. She moved to Paris aged 18 to study graphic design before embarking upon further study in Brussels. In 2010, she moved to Iceland, becoming an Icelandic citizen in 2021. Élise currently lives in a small fishing village on the north coast where she splits her time between freelance illustration and a job in a haunted hotel. She enjoys exploring the fjords and playing ping-pong.
